Why is it important to update TBD price information on selection items?

Megan Sullivan

"Champagne taste on a beer budget."

Lots of custom builders and remodelers use that phrase when it comes to their clients. And while not all clients watch every penny, at the end of the day, they're still writing a check.

So money matters, and Co-construct will help you keep it all straight for your clients.

When setting up a selection item, you may not always know the price. Checking the TBD, or "To Be Determined" box, lets you at least show the selection information to your client, even though the pricing info is not available. In the case of choices that are entered by the client, you will almost always use TBD, because until you see their exact choice, you cannot know what the price will be.

Once a selection has been made, it's important to update that TBD price. Whether you enter a price of $5,000 for an upgrade or $0.00 for a standard selection that has no additional cost, you will be giving your clients a better understanding about the financial impact of their choices.

To update a selection price, click "Edit" on the Specs & Selections page for the item, enter in the appropriate cost, and select "Update Item" at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
