Contractors have differing definitions of selections, upgrades, options, and change orders. To address this, Co-construct has a very broad definition of a “selection item,” that encompasses all of these by grouping them together under the selections umbrella. When you present your clients with a selection, they then make a choice. Depending on how you set up the selection item, the client will either enter their own choice or choose from among some options you present.
Selections may be cost-impacting, but they do not have to be. Selections may later be assigned to a change order, but they do not have to be. You have just as much flexibility in how you treat selection decisions in Co-construct as you did before you started to use Co-construct, but with the selection sheet, all of these decisions are now accessible in one place.
