What can I do with CoConstruct linked to my accounting software?

Amber Harlow

When you link your CoConstruct account to your accounting software, you'll still be able to take advantage of all the usual ways in which CoConstruct can help you communicate effectively, organize your business, and tackle projects in a smart and powerful way. You'll also have access to a number of great integration features that let CoConstruct work hand in hand with your accounting system.

Export your estimates

If you've built an estimate within CoConstruct, take advantage of this available integration to push that estimate directly into QuickBooks.

Save time by building your estimates in CoConstruct, and we'll do the heavy lifting to put it in QuickBooks.

Create bills from your verified purchase orders

As you mark work as verified, CoConstruct pushes the right information to QuickBooks to create bills for those completed POs, and even reads whether the bill has been paid - so you always have the information you need when talking to your subs and vendors, without making your bookkeeper change where he or she is doing the bill paying.

Retrieve budget actuals

If you're tracking the budget of a project in CoConstruct, you can use the option to retrieve budget actuals to keep all of your job costs up-to-date on the Financials page. Without the double entry, you won't need to worry about finding the time to plug in the actual costs manually or about fat-fingering any numbers. Especially if you're running an open book project, think of the time savings as you can get these numbers to your clients on the fly.

Please note that desktop QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online Plus are supported for budget actuals integration.

Push CoConstruct invoices to QuickBooks

Any invoices you create and issue in CoConstruct can be pushed to QuickBooks as invoices, ready to be sent to your clients. Once those invoices get paid in QuickBooks, we'll automatically update the invoice in CoConstruct -- keeping the rest your team updated with client payments without having to go into QuickBooks.

Retrieve client payments

With a project linked to your accounting system, any payments that your client makes to you can be automatically pulled into your Financials Summary page in CoConstruct to save you time and ensure that your team and your clients are all on the same page. Your client will be able to see every payment they've made to date on the project, so you won't have clients pestering you to find out how much they've already paid, or whether you got their last check.

Plus, if a payment is made on an invoice that CoConstruct generated (see above), the status will automatically change to "paid" in CoConstruct. Your client will know that the invoice has been paid, and so will you.

Push your employee's time

If you are using CoConstruct's Time Clock with your team, you can push this directly to your QuickBooks timesheet after you approve the time, logging it in QuickBooks without any double entry required.

Create invoices from change orders

On any project that's linked up, CoConstruct can be set to automatically create an invoice in your accounting software for a fully-approved change order.

If you're using QuickBooks and CoConstruct's invoicing feature, however, you probably won't need to use this feature of integration -- change orders can be turned into invoices directly in CoConstruct, and then pushed to QuickBooks from that feature!
